DANCE
An internationally acclaimed soloist in two forms of Indian classical dance: Bharata Natyam and Odissi, Rajika also holds an M.A. (NYU ) in movement analysis from a cultural perspective. She has given recitals, lecture-demonstrations and workshops all over the U.S., South and Central America, Europe and India.
Creative collaborations & choreography: Flamenco Natyam, with Flamenco dancer La Conja (Guggenheim, NY, and on tour in India); Bharatanatyam-Variations, a post-modern take on traditional Bharatanatyam, Bach-Bharatanatyam Variations with pianist Maria Ilic, and Another Country with singer, Nora York.
Currently specialty: danced story-telling with narratives that include songs, chants, and poetry, accompanied by gesture, dance movements and even puppetry.
